Be assured all of our instructors are on the cutting edge of what’s new in fitness as well as our individual forms of dance instruction.

Cindy Coverdale

Cindy is passionate about Pole Fitness and captivated by what it has to offer: beauty, strength, flexibility, sensuality, and playfulness! She has studied with the finest pole dancers world-wide including: Fawnia Deitrich, Jenyne Butterfly, K.T. Coates, Michula Nunez, Jamilla DeVille, Alethea Austin and Sarah Cretul, solidifying her credentials as an instructor and inspiring herself as a dancer. 
She was first introduced to Pole Fitness in July 2006 and has been enthralled by the sport ever since. Her mission as an instructor is to allow her students permission to express their own creativity and style through this form of movement in a supportive, enthusiastic, and empowering environment. Her awareness of form and proper alignment allows her students to advance in their ability level with ease and grace!

Bettina Riffo

Bettina has combined her background in teaching group fitness with her passion for dance to create a class that will not only give you a great workout but also put a smile on your face. Her philosophy is to have fun so you forget that you’re working out!

Deborah Scarborough

Deborah started practicing yoga 14 years ago when she was experiencing pain and stress in her body. She quickly realized the many benefits of yoga and how it kept her body and mind healthy and strong.  Her passion is empowering others in self-care by listening to their bodies and believes that yoga is a healing system that can be practiced at all ages, with injuries, physiological imbalances, and emotional stress to create wellness, a sense of deep peace, personal transformation, and joy.

Kisha Garcia

Kisha first learned how to dance salsa in Orlando, Florida as freshman at the University of Central Florida when she joined a student organization called Latin Rhythm in 2002. Soon, she became an instructor, performer and choreographer. During that time, she would go out with friends and learned how dance merengue and bachata as well. Nearing graduation, she started taking classes at a new studio in town, Universal Mambo Dance Academy, where she performed on the student team.

Marla Richardson

Marla is a professional dancer and has been teaching for the last 6 years. She has performed in India, studied Tai Chi in China, practiced Reiki in Eastern Europe, and Interned at Hot Yoga of New Zealand. She is a certified yoga teacher at the 200 hour level receiving her training in Guatemala, and holds a BA in International Affairs with a Minor in Dance. She looks forward to guiding you through your practice helping each student surrender thoughts from the mind tapping into the true essence of yoga, and bringing this with them outside of the classroom.

Tammy LaFrancis

Tammy has always been active in fitness with a strong emphasis in running. Competing in everything from marathons to mud runs she is pretty much always training for a race! in 2009 she began taking Pole Fitness Classes at Vertical Fitness and became hooked on that sport as well.

Kellie Wynne

Kellie began taking pole dancing lessons in 2004 while in her home state of Virginia, and after the very first class she was hooked. Studying primarily with a teacher whose professional dance background was ballet and ballroom, Kellie's pole dancing style grew to become beautifully controlled and graceful. Kellie moved to the Lake Tahoe area in the summer of 2007 and is thrilled to now be instructing others in this new fitness related form of dance. She can't wait to pass along her love of pole dancing to her students!

Mindy Wegener

Mindy Wegener began doing Pilates in 2001. Realizing it was an exercise program that she loved and would continue to do for the rest of her life she decided to gather the necessary certifications. She has a personal training certification from IFPA and is a member of IDEA Health and Fitness Association. She has completed and received certifications from The Pilates Coach in Reno, NV for Pilates Mat 1 and Pilates Reformer 1,2 and 3. She has also received certifications from EFI Sports Medicine for Group and Personal Training for the Gravity Equipment. She teaches Mat Pilates classes along with Reformer, Wunda Chair, Gravity Training System, Bosu Balance Trainer and Ballast Ball Routines.

Her philosophy about training is that we have so much stress in our lives, we need to let all that go when we work out and just have fun.

Wendy Scott

Wendy has been Belly Dancing for over 6 1/2 years and is also a member of Troupe Shakti, performing under the stage name of Safaana. In addition to providing a great low impact workout in her Belly Dancing Classes, what Wendy really enjoys is bringing out the goddess in all of her students by helping them to rise above their fear of dancing while becoming more confident as women. Her class environment is playful and light hearted with an emphasis on keeping things uplifting and fun.

Wendy is also a certified Pilates Instructor and has also been a licensed massage therapist for over 25 years. Through this she has a great knowledge and understanding of anatomy and how the body works, allowing her to teach dance from a fitness perspective as well.

Laura Velasco

Laura began Hula dancing over 20 years ago in her native Mexico, of all places! After giving up dance for many years to focus on raising her son - she is back - and ready to share this incredible form of dance with you. She brings a sense of tradition with her in the clothing worn as well as the dances she will share, blending Hula with Tahitian style dance for variation. Laura's teaching style is soft and full of laughter - but don't let that fool you, she can shake those hips like you wouldn't believe! Mahalo!
