Yoga
Yoga is an ideal basis for a holistic fitness practice since it uses physical movement, controlled breathing and meditation to improve mental and emotional health. While many come to it primarily for physical reasons, those who deepen their practice find new doors opening to the mental and spiritual aspects as well.

This gentle holistic class focuses on releasing tight muscles, reducing pain from injuries, and relieving stress from the body and mind. Yoga techniques such as asana, (postures) breathing, and guided relaxation will be used to bring about harmony and balance within the mind-body connection. Asana promotes stretching and strengthening of the muscles to create stability in the body. Breath work contributes to the movement of prana (life force) to promote vitality and energy. Guided relaxation allows stress to melt away creating tranquility and peace. The combination of all three parts in a yoga practice is a powerful foundation for health and wellbeing, treating the body as a whole. Experience: All fitness levels welcome. No yoga experience necessary. Bring your stress and body pain and watch it melt away by the end of class! Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes Dress Code: Comfortable work-out wear and bare feet. Private Sessions are also available: Please contact us at verticalfitness@me.com for more information and to schedule your session. |

Yogis new and old are welcome to this beautiful practice which works from the crown chakra down to the root chakra based on Classical Sivananda Yoga Tradition; the only unique style of yoga with this design. Each posture is held for many breaths, becoming a meditation in itself, lengthening and strengthening the muscles while promoting proper circulation. This is a slower more spiritual class, the perfect way to unwind after a busy week. All fitness levels welcome. No Yoga experience necessary. Just come prepared to unwind and rejuvinate. Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes Dress Code: Comfortable Yoga clothes and bare feet. |

This Ashtanga based practice unites mind, body and breath through a steady sequence of poses. Each posture is linked and combined with an inhalation and and exhalation, making each movement a breath and each breath a movement. Vinyasa Yoga is often called flow yoga, because of the smooth way the poses run together like a dance. You will improve strength and flexibility in your body, while moving and breathing with grace.
