November continues to be a fun-filled workshop month! Packing them in before you all get too busy with the Holidays!

We are soooo fortunate to have Mr Burlesque back at our studio for another amazing workshop!  Rodney has been to Vertical Fitness twice before and everyone who meets him falls in love with him.  He has a magical ability to convince you that you really are the most amazing woman who ever walked on planet Earth!  His workshops are super fun.  Sign up fast... They sell out quickly.  Who knows what he'll teach... I promise you will have a great time whatever it is! Rodney is a classicly trained dancer who knows how to teach the "non-dancer" in a playful and entertaining environment.

We are super excited to announce the return of one of our "all time most favorite instructors and pole competitors" Zoraya Judd to our studio. The workshop will be open to all levels so please feel free to come even if you're new to pole.  Zoraya can teach you just about anything you'd like to learn (leave out the knee holds please... smile. Sasha can teach you those!). If you'd like to learn from one of the very best in pole, join us!  Z just took the title of "Best Entertainer" at the WORLD Pole Sport Fitness Competition in Budapest! Join us for a Halloween Chair Dance Workshop / Costume Party!  Woo~Hoo!

There will be a prize for the best costume, so make sure you dress up!  Refreshments will be served as everyone arrives and say's "Hello!" to each other, then we will teach you a playful dance routine centered around a chair. (This one will be more dance, and not so much stripping, to accommodate for costumes!)  We look forward to trying to figure out who's who!

There is only room for 12 ladies in this workshop so be sure to sign up early if you want to come! These workshops always sell out. It's been awhile since we (Kellie and Cindy) have taught one of our famously-fun workshops and we are really looking forward to it! 

Hi Everyone!

Cindy, Kellie and Tammy just returned from the California Pole Dancing Competition in Hollywood, CA. (Sasha is in Europe taking classes with Oona and others so she couldn't join us this year.)

It was a great weekend of workshops and performances! Although, we missed our Pairs Workshop (two people on the pole together) due to Southwest cancelling our flight... grrrrr... we had an amazing time in Natasha Wang's workshop and Becca Butcher's workshop. We learned some fun new and different moves to share with all our students!

Natasha is the current USPDF Champion and last years California Pole Dancing Champion. I don't know if Becca has a title yet, but she was an AMAZING instructor.  She started out the workshop taking orders (like a waitress) for what we wanted to learn, and then just went down the list.  I can't believe how much she taught us. Yes, we learned the shoulder mount Ninja dismount! Take a class from her if you get the chance.  She is a fabulous instructor! Of course I asked her to come to Tahoe and she said yes, so we will keep you posted on that!

The workshops were held at Evolve Dance Studio in LA.  The studio is beautiful and clean, and they were super friendly.  I would definitely recommend that studio for classes.

Our hearts went out to all the competitors! The poles were changed out at the last minute to Stage Poles, which we all know are NOTHING like fixed poles.  Everyone did amazingly well with that little surprise. We were all super glad we weren't competing! ha ha.  Congratulations to the new champion, Phoenix Kazree who was amazing!  Her music went out halfway through her performance and she just soldiered on like nothing happened... Hi Everybody!

Just got back from an amazing pole fitness workshop with the amazing Zoraya Judd!  The one who holds all her poses out at 90 degrees...  She is SO strong!  But, as we found out she's also sweet, funny and generous.  She WILL be coming to our studio for a workshop so don't worry if you're feeling left out.  I found out about this one last minute and prayed and begged for an extra pole so us VF Instructors could attend. Valerie from Vertical Fitness Sacramento hosted the workshop at Sacramento Pole Dance Studio since her studio (Valerie's) is moving to a new location. We learned a lot of great tips to share with you and all of us can hardly move.  As Tammy said, "It's not where are you sore, it's where AREN'T you sore?!" LOL.

Hi Everyone!

We're back from a super fun field trip to the Bay Area where we took workshops with many different pole "greats" and attended the USPDF West Coast Regional Competition. We learned so much! New moves and tips to get into more advanced moves, complete routines, choreography moving to the pole and away from the pole, new warm ups, and some great new stretches.  You name it! 

All if this new training allows us to become so much more in our quest to be the best we can be on the pole--individually, and as a Pole School!  There was a large variety of classes offered... from Advanced Pole Tricks to Dance Choreography.  Between the 5 of us (Cindy, Kellie, Tammy, Sarina and Eric) we are bringing back some wonderful new information for Vertical Fitness students.  We look forward to sharing!

If you're in the Bay Area and looking for a Pole Studio, might we recommend Poletential in Redwood City.  They hosted the competition and did an amazing job.  They have a beautiful studio and very welcoming instructors.

Wheeeeeeee!  What  fun workshops we had over the weekend with Jasmin! We learned just exactly how to control that "scary beast" (spinning pole) and execute lovely spins, hangs, and combinations all while gracefully moving in a constant motion. If you missed these workshops, don't worry, Jasmin will be back...  

As an instructor, learning from Jasmin really showed me why those dancers coming out of Bobbi's Pole Studio in Australia are SOOO incredibly amazing.  I believe they really have the blueprint on how to create beautiful form and flow on the pole.  Technique and Form have always been at the formost of my teaching style and I am extremely excited to start implementing the new key pieces I learned into our existing Vertical Fitness Curriculum! 

I've got to go practice now... See you in Class!
